Minimum 2 night stay.

Cassie’s Farm is a working drystock farm, running dairy grazers.

The original woolshed on the farm has been converted into secluded and self-contained accommodation, using largely recycled materials. The aim was to maintain the original character of the building, the history and essential Kiwi-ness of it, as well as making it as eco-friendly and sustainable as possible. All of the fixtures, fittings and furnishings are recycled or pre-loved – except for the new bathroom, and bedroom carpet.

We have retained various of the original woolshed features – the woolpress now houses the hot water cylinder, a shearing plant graces the wall, and one wall is covered by corrugated iron previously cladding the outside of the woolshed. The living area floor is natural timber, and the remaining living area walls are clad with native rimu taken from the exterior of a demolished woolshed at Whitehall.

The result is a quirky, cosy, country cottage, ideal for couples romantic getaways or families who enjoy being surrounded by nature. Comfortably accommodates four.

Facilities

The building is fully insulated, with a log burner which keeps it toasty warm in colder months. All beds have New Zealand wool duvets, with extra blankets and hot water bottles at hand if needed. In the kitchen you have a full electric stove and oven, fridge freezer, panini press, microwave, coffee plunger and a full range of crockery and cookware.

In the living area there are four comfy armchairs, a 32″ flat screen HDD tv with Freeview, a dvd player (choose some movies from our large selection), and an ipod dock / cd player, along with a selection of board games and books. There is free WIFI.

Outside you have a large wraparound, north facing deck, with table, chairs and sun umbrella, plus a porch for shade or shelter. Enjoy uninterrupted views over our farm paddocks and bush, beautiful sunsets, or watch the horses being worked in the adjacent riding arena.
